Micro-Star International, better known as MSI, announced the launch of a new top of the line high performance mainboard that is designed around Intel's P35 chipset. The MSI P35 Diamond is based on the P35 Express chipset and it is one of the few mainboards available on the market that offers support for DDR3 memory modules.

As a top of the line solution the MSI P35 Diamond mainboard offers support for the
latest Intel frontside bus architecture and speed that reaches 1333MHz as well as support for the incoming Intel processors built using the 45nm fabrication process. Among those processors there will be Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo as well as the Extreme version of the Intel CPUs. Because the new mainboard also offers certified support for DDR3 memory modules, the possibilities for overclocking and truly outstanding performance are much increased. As the current DDR3 memory standard states, the compliant memory modules are starting with a 1066MHz working frequency while consuming 25 percent less power than DDR2 memories running at the same speed, the P35 Diamond mainboard offers "incredible performance with high performance DDR3 memory modules", according to the MSI press release concerning the launch of this product.

The best possible performance is achieved by a computing system only at lower temperatures, so MSI fitted the P35 Diamond mainboard with a fanless cooling design called Circu-Pipe. "This original and unique heat-pipe design is the revolutionary innovation to maximize the efficiency of temperature-reduce inside of the system" said Vincent Lai, marketing director of MSI. The silent cooling system named Circu-Pipe, because of its design, offers better cooling than all other passive cooling solutions, thanks to its fin-typed heatsink that increases the heat dissipation while saving space for larger CPU coolers and graphics cards.

The P35 Diamond motherboard offers two PCI Express x16 ports but one of them is using only the 4x transfer speed but even so the card fully supports ATI's CrossFire, the multi video card setup. For storage the mainboard comes equipped with 4+ Serial ATA II ports that support Matrix RAID while a number of two eSATA ports are found on the back of the card. An integrated X-FI Xtreme Audio card with Creative hardware audio codec which fully support the 24-bit Crystalizer makes the P35 Diamond the perfect choice for multimedia centered computer systems, while the presence of the MSI SkyTel technology allows users to plug in any telephone and use the Skype program without any additional equipment.
