The Ubuntu Software Center is becoming more and more the place to go to find the best apps, for the Ubuntu Linux distributions, so here are some highlights of March 2012.

Ubuntu Software Center provides paid and freeware apps, and some of them are really great. The first three places are occupied by games.

On the first place there's Steel Storm: Burning Retribution, a top down action shooter with old school spirit, oriented competitive gameplay, and designed for people who like fast paced action, hordes of smart enemies.

On the second place there's Uplink, a slightly older game in which the player takes on the role of an Uplink Agent who makes a living by performing jobs for major corporations.

Oil Rush is on the third position, and it is a real-time naval strategy game based on group control.

As for the free applications, Ryzom, a MMORPG is set more than 2000 years in the future, on a living, evolving world, beautiful Atys, takes the first place, followed by Full Circle Magazine, a free, independent, monthly magazine dedicated to the Ubuntu family, and Crossover Games on the third spot, an application that makes it possible to play Windows games such as World of Warcraft.
