A lot of people have said that the Ubuntu Software Center will fail because it's offering something that is not usual on Linux, more precisely applications and games that cost money.

The Ubuntu Software Center store can be consulted online and not only from inside the operating system, so anyone can check what Canonical has to offer.

The top three commercial applications from the store are Trauma, a game that tells a story of a young woman who survives a car accident; Oil Rush, a mix of strategy and tower defense (a Linux review is available here); and Fluendo DVD Player, an application that replicates DVD's on Linux platforms.

The top three free applications from Ubuntu Software Center are Marble Arena 2, a game in which the players control marbles in complicated environments; Ryzom, an MMORPG set 2000 years in the future; and Crossover Games, an application built on Wine that runs Windows games in Linux.
