February brought a major increase in the overall app count for the Windows Store, with several important titles added to a wide variety of software categories.

The games section, however, is undoubtedly the most popular one, so it’s no surprise that more developers decide to port their apps to Windows 8.

Games published by Microsoft Studios dominate the Windows Store, as the Microsoft Solitaire Collection keeps its leading spot, followed by Jetpack Joyride, Cut The Rope, Adera and BubbleBreaker.

Aside from the last one, all integrate Xbox Live support, so they usually come with daily challenges and online leaderboards to let you compete with friends over the Internet.

Just as expected, the games section is also the largest one in the Store, but as long as Microsoft doesn’t provide detailed statistics, nobody can tell for sure how many entries there actually are in this category.
