Canonical published a few minutes ago, November 13, the regular top 10 app downloads chart for October 2012, from Ubuntu Software Center.

As you can see from the lists below, on the paid apps chart, the horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent just dethroned the MC Launcher app, who stood there two months in a row. It is followed closely by a new project, Mini Minecraft Launcher, a small and simple Minecraft launcher, and two of the best games from the Humble Indie Bundle initiative, Bastion and Rochard.

On the free apps chart, the Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances web-based game from EA is still in first place, follow closely by another similar game from EA, Lord of Ultima.

Two new entries were added in the paid apps chart, AnonMail and Defense Zone. The first one is an app that allows users to send anonymous emails and the latter is a very beautiful cross-platform tower defense game, which costs only 4.99 USD (3.99 EUR).

"Here’s October’s installment of our monthly app charts. Stay up to date with all that’s new in the Software Center and check out October’s top 10 Ubuntu app downloads!" was stated in the official blog announcement.
