No sad stories or philosophical themes, just pure joy

Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas PC gamers! I hope Santa will bring you nice gifts tonight that may quench your thirst for gaming at least for a while.

Most of us are spending Christmas with our beloved ones doing normal things like eating, drinking, laughing, watching TV or even gaming.

I thought it would make things easier for those who plan on gaming most of these Holidays to give them some options when it comes to PC games that should definitely be played during this time of celebration.

So, first things first. Let me explain why I chose these games that fit better than other titles with the Christmas theme. Well, it's simple, they are fun, simple games that don't require too much thinking, and more importantly, most of them can be played with friends.

The order in which I have picked this game is random, so it doesn't really matter which one is placed on top or at the bottom. I have tried to include a wider range of genres in the list, so that anyone can find something they're more inclined to play.

From goat simulators to dildo bats and competitive multiplayer games

Without further ado, I present you the first title that shouldn't be left out of any Christmas party: Goat Simulator. This game is pure fun and with the addition of the MMO aspect, Goat Simulator should be played by everyone at least once in a lifetime.

I'll be grouping Blizzard's World of Warcraft and Hearthstone into one mention on the list. The first has some nice Christmas events and quests, as well as splendid decorations throughout the world, while the latter can be played in short sessions with friends.

I would also like to mention that, with the addition of Goblins vs. Gnomes expansion, Hearthstone has become funnier than ever to play due to the random effects the cards in the new set have over players.

Divinity: Original Sin is my next pick for RPG fans. Larian's game has lots of cameos, funny appearances of popular characters from other games, and very amusing dialogs. You should have quite a joyful run.

Calling all car-racing games fans! I believe I have the perfect suggestion for you. How would you like to be able to drive your own truck through Europe and at the same time be able to build your own transportation empire? If this sounds tempting, I can't recommend more SCS Software's game Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Next in line is a blast from the past. The smash hit Monkey Island 2, which manages to capture the essence of the original game, while offering more of the same. Fans of quest genre will enjoy whacky plots, funny puzzles, bizarre but unforgettable characters. A glorious adventure that shouldn't be missed by PC gamers.

You can find fun in the chaos as well

I believe my next option is also the most controversial, but I'm sticking with it because many PC gamers find fun in chaos. I hear Volition's Saints Row IV is extremely fun if you enjoy sexual innuendos, weird guns and quirky characters, so why not givng it a try.

My next pick is Hatoful Boyfriend, an indie game that at the same time pretends to be a pigeon dating simulator. Apart from the humorous and surprising moments, the game allows players to created their own stories to share with friends or other gamers.

South Park: The Stick for Truth can be quite fun to play during this time as well. Developed by Obsidian, the game is also loaded with controversy, but can still provide you with lots of joyful gameplay moments.

The Cave is another indie platformer with a multiplayer mode. Having finished the game twice, I can say that this is one of the funniest games I have even played, so those who want to give it a try will definitely not be disappointed.

Following Blizzard pattern above, I would also like to group Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2 together. Valve has quite a few Christmas-themed items and events for both games, so I suggest those who usually play these games to go get them.

If you have any other suggestion besides the titles I've listed here, by all means don't hesitate to post them in the comments section. And Merry Christmas everyone!
