Jörn Lindau announced two days ago, on June 27th, a new release of his Toorox Linux distribution. Toorox 06.2009 brings many updates and a few improvements to the USB Stick creator and external USB HDD installations.
"Some users had problems (Kernel Panic) after an installation and booting from an external USB-HDD. This came up, because the kernel needs some seconds for its initialisation. This was fixed in the installer." Jörn Lindau said in the
official release announcement.
KDE, Toorox's default desktop environment, was updated to its latest stable version, 4.2.4, coming with several fixes and stability improvements. The USB-Stick creator script was improved and brings three new options: Static, Personal and Encrypted. Static and Personal will only store the home folder on the USB drive, while the Encrypted option will
encrypt it with a password at shutdown. For USB installations, Toorox will now create two separate partitions: EXT2 for the system and FAT32 for other data.
