14 DAY TRIAL // Jörn Lindau announced today the release of Toorox 02.2009 Linux distribution. Apparently, the latest version of the K Desktop Environment was a success, as more and more distributions are rushing to include it as the default option. Such is the case of Toorox, which features KDE 4.2.0 on top of a 2.6.28-gentoo-r1 Linux kernel and the latest Xorg-Server 1.5.3.
Almost all system packages were updated to their most recent versions. The net-config file was added to /usr/sbin and can be edited to configure the available LAN and WLAN devices. Toorox 02.2009 also has added support for writing to NTFS partitions through the implementation of NTFS-3G driver and support for USB optical drives. Other highlights of Toorox 02.2009:

The developer also decided to remove some packages: compiz, kwlan and desktop-effects-overlay are no longer part of the distribution.
