Tony Parker Sex Scandal - Final Update

- The basketball star was issued a full apology by X17Online after suing the paparazii website for $40 million

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

In December last year, Eva Longoria's NBA star husband Tony Parker was involved in an alleged sex scandal, after paparazzi agency X17Online ran a story about how Parker had been enjoying a secret
two months affair with a French model named Alexandra Paressant. X17 claimed Parker had met Paressant in France, at his own wedding to "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria, where the two had allegedly been introduced by French footballer Thierry Henry. When the scandal broke, Parker vehemently denied ever having met Paressant, who - on later investigation - turned out not to be a model, but a scam artist who had previously pulled the same "love affair" stunt with Brazilian soccer player Ronaldinho. Parker also sued X17Online for $40 million and won.

As a result, the site issued a public apology to the basketball player. "In December 2007, X17online.com published over ten articles concerning Tony Parker and a woman named Alexandra Paressant. [...] Since the publication of these articles, X17online.com and X17, Inc. have discovered that Mr. Parker has never met with, or spoken to Ms. Paressant nor has he ever had sexual relations with her. X17online.com and X17 Inc. regret having been misled by Ms. Paressant and her representatives and apologize to Mr. Parker for any damage or inconvenience this may have caused him or his wife," reads a message which was posted on the site in question last Friday.

Parker filed suit in the Superior Court in December and accused the paparazzi website of running the story without even trying to contact him, his wife or any of the couple's representatives. "X17 had to know that the story was false, or, at the very least, it had to have entertained serious doubts about the credibility of its supposed source," it was stated in the lawsuit. Also, "no one from X17 attempted to contact Mr. Henry, who … would have told them in no uncertain terms that this woman was not at the wedding." As a result, all the couple's fans can now breathe a sigh of relief: Tony and his wife are not heading to Splitsville and Eva's resolute support of her husband paid off. Now they can both ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after. Hopefully.
