Those who get the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD title, which includes levels and skaters from the first two games in the franchise, might receive some downloadable add-ons with content from the other titles in the series, at least according to Tony Hawk himself.

Skateboarding games have disappeared in the last few years, as both Activision’s Tony Hawk series and Electronic Arts’ Skate one failed to generate sufficient interest from fans.

In an effort to appeal to those who actually played the original Tony Hawk games, Activision and studio Robomodo are getting ready to release Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, which includes levels and skaters from the first two games in the series.

Tony Hawk, however, doesn’t exclude the possibility of DLC being released for the high definition title with levels or skaters from the next two games in the popular franchise.

"The dream of doing this is we can throw levels from 3 and 4 and make them downloadable in this," Hawk said, via Joystiq.

One of the goals with Pro Skater HD, according to Hawk, is to use it as base on which to release popular content from older games, in order to appeal to longtime fans.

"We can use this as a foundation and platform for that. I really want this to be a foundation we build on so we can do more levels, more skaters, more content that you can download because this is kind of revolutionary to do a franchise game as only downloadable."

At first, only the best content from the first two games will be available, but fans can always start sharing feedback and their wishes with Hawk and the team at Robomodo.

"We thought we'd start relatively small and just do the best of the first two games and hope to build from there," the famous skateboarder concluded.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD is out later this year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
