Developer Neversoft, the studio behind many iterations in the Tony Hawk or Guitar Hero franchises, has just updated its website and revealed that it’s now working on a brand new shooter while helping support the Call of Duty series.

The Call of Duty franchise may have started at Infinity Ward but Activision, its publisher, has started spreading it around its various internal studios for quite some time.

As such, while the two main developers, Infinity Ward and Treyarch are alternating between releases, other groups, like Sledgehammer Games or Raven Software, are working on downloadable content.

Now, a new studio has joined the Call of Duty family, with Neversoft updating its website and saying that, "We have molded our team into a crack squad of eager developers ready to push the first-person action genre in support of Activision's Call of Duty franchise.”

The studio is also hiring and all of its open positions, including Senior Level Designer, Senior Environment Artist, and Senior Concept Artist, mention a new first-person shooter.

As of yet, it’s unclear if Neversoft is just working on DLC or if it’s developing a whole new entry in the series.
