As rumors are making the rounds that Justin Bieber is considering moving out of the exclusive gated community in Calabasas, a new celebrity will be moving in, though hopefully she will be less taxing on the neighbors: Toni Braxton.

The singer filed for bankruptcy only 6 months ago, but she seems to be back in the saddle after a very rough time, because she can afford now to buy new digs, TMZ reports.

The celebrity publication believes Toni’s new purchase was made possible through her reality show, Braxton Family Values, which is now at its third season. If E! was able to make the Kardashians the highest paid reality stars of all times, chances are one such show also helped Toni get back to her previous lifestyle, before she found herself riddled in debt.

“Real estate sources tell TMZ, Toni […] just purchased a mansion for close to $3 million [€2.2 million] in Calabasas' exclusive gated community The Oaks... just a few houses down from Justin. The house is 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and measures 5,323 sq. ft.,” the report notes, adding that it’s “the smallest house in the neighborhood.”

“Toni's real estate purchase has to sting for her old creditors – as we reported, when Braxton filed for bankruptcy in 2010 (for the second time) she claimed debts as high as $50,000,000 [€36.5 million]... and only ended up repaying a tiny fraction of that before the debts were cleared entirely,” TMZ adds.

Once the best-selling singer of the moment, Toni ended up filing for bankruptcy twice because of health issues and a string of very bad investments. She was very open about both situations, explaining that she didn’t exactly overspend to get there.

The second time she went bankrupt it was because she had agreed to do a series of concerts that she had to cancel at the last minute after being diagnosed with lupus and a heart condition. She had to pay back organizers and thus found herself deep in debt.
