More and more major tablet manufacturers are adopting the 8-inch standard for tablets and white-box Chinese vendors seem to be following the trend in close proximity.

Today another slate from the 8-inch category is being unleashed into the world, even as it bears a slightly comical name. Meet the Tongfang P80, a tablet equipped with an IPS screen and a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, reports GizChina.

The life force of the Tongfang is a quad-core MT6589 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. The tablet can be used to place voice calls as well, and apart from what we just mentioned, it boasts 16GB of internal storage, two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP front snapper) and an average 3,500 mAh battery. The slate is also compatible with the WCDMA network.

And because today is a very special day, (it’s 12/12/2013) the P80 is available for pre-order at the discounted price of $247 / €179. After the day is done, you will be able to grab the slate for $329 / €238.
