Quite a while ago, we reported on how celebrities Tom Hardy, Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio were planning on joining hands and producing a movie revolving around poaching and the need to push for stricter laws concerning the conservation of endangered species.
Recent news on this topic suggests that these three celebrities might in fact end up presenting the general public with not one, but two cinematic productions dealing with this topic.
Thus, Slash Film
reports that both these movies will come as a result of a collaboration between Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Appian Way, Tobey Maguire‘s Material Pictures, and Tom Hardy‘s Executive Options.
As well as this, rumor has it that, while one of the movies will give Tom Hardy an opportunity to fully show off his acting skills, the latter will feature all three of these celebrities.
In case anyone was wondering, it seems that Tom Hardy will play an ex-special forces soldier turned conservationist, who keeps endangered species such as rhinos and elephants very close at heart and who tries to do everything in his power to teach younger rangers how to protect them.
The second movie will supposedly be more like “Traffic,” and display a significantly more complex story line.
More precisely, a series of perspectives will be put together in order to shed light both on poaching activities, and on the illegal markets directly linked to them.
Truth be told, the issue of killing these animals for their tusks and horns is indeed a most pressing one, and making sure the general public is well aware of this comes as a noteworthy endeavor.
Still, one cannot hope but wonder whether or not, should these movie ideas actually become a reality, ordinary folk will be willing to watch two different cinematic productions focusing on the same topic.
Hopefully, more information on this topic will soon be made available, and we will be able to say for sure if these rumors are true.
