Amazing news for movie buffs all over, especially if they’re fans of the work of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, because official confirmation comes from Variety that they’re to team up again, this time for a big screen adaptation of a Michael Punke novel.

The two previously worked together on “Inception” from writer / director Chris Nolan. “The Revenant” has been scheduled for a tentative release date for 2015, or so it seems from the film’s IMDB page.

“Will Poulter (‘We’re the Millers’) is also in negotiations to join the cast of the drama with Alejandro González Iñárritu directing. Pic will shoot this fall,” Variety says.

“Based on the Michael Punke novel, ‘The Revenant’ centers on a 1820s frontiersman on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling. Mark L. Smith and Iñárritu penned the adaptation,” adds the trade publication.

This will be DiCaprio’s first film after the critically acclaimed “The Wolf of Wall Street.” He’s taking some time off from the spotlight.

Meanwhile, until this film goes into production, fans will be seeing more of Hardy because he’s bound to start promoting the projects he has coming out, including the highly anticipated “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which should have come out in 2013 but will only arrive in theaters in May 2015.

He also has “The Drop,” James Gandolfini’s last movie, coming out and “Child 44” and “London Road.” After “Mad Max,” he will be seen in “The Legend” playing both mafia brothers Ronald and Reginald Kray.

Yes, today is a good day to be a Tom Hardy fan.
