Tom Hardy, the dreamy British actor who shot to international fame with this summer’s blockbuster “Inception,” is officially off the market. A spokesperson has confirmed Hardy and his longtime girlfriend are engaged.

Hardy and Charlotte Riley met while working together on the television adaptation of “Wuthering Heights” in 2009, and have been practically inseparable ever since.

A spokesperson for the British actress has confirmed the happy news to People, saying the couple are already making plans for the upcoming nuptials.

“The Mail on Sunday claims that she may even take a bigger-than-usual role in the celebrations. Not only will the 28-year-old walk down the aisle, but she also wants to help provide the entertainment,” People writes.

“Riley sometimes sings in a band that she hopes will perform for guests,” the same publication reports. As of now, further details have not been made available.

“A rep for Riley confirmed they were engaged this summer. A rep for Hardy, 32, had no comment,” People also notes.

In July this year, Hardy made headlines for reasons that were not necessarily connected to his role in Chris Nolan’s “Inception,” when a series of older quotes from him re-surfaced in print.

“As a boy? Of course I have [experimented with men]. I’m an actor for [expletive]’s sake. I’ve played with everything and everyone. I love the form and the physicality, but now that I’m in my thirties, it doesn’t do it for me,” Hardy was quoted as saying.

“I’m done experimenting but there’s plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine,” the actor reportedly added.

Later on, after all media outlets picked up on the quotes and believed they were the real deal, it emerged they had been taken completely out of context – and even twisted to make them say a different thing from what the actor said.

The quotes had been taken from an interview he’d done before the release of “RocknRolla,” where Hardy plays a mobster with a huge crush on Gerard Butler’s character.
