For the past several months, Tom Hardy has been keeping busy shooting for a new movie, “Child 44,” in which he appears as a soldier-type in the Soviet Union. The first two official stills from the film have been released and, if you’re anything like me, you must be feeling hyped about it already.

Not only does “Child 44” star the amazing Tom Hardy and the equally amazing Noomi Rapace (who actually plays his wife, so together, they make an amazing couple, if you will), but it also reunites Hardy with his “The Dark Knight Rises” co-star Gary Oldman.

As you can see in the photo above, Bane and Commissioner Gordon still don’t like each other very much.

RopeOfSilicon says that the film will be out in the fall of 2014, though no official release date has been announced, and notes that it will tell the story of a man “fighting to reclaim his humanity from a system that requires him to sacrifice it in order to survive.”

The film is based on a novel by Tom Rob Smith, which is described as follows on Amazon: “Leo Demidov [is] a war hero who believes in the iron fist of the law. But when a murderer starts to kill at will and Leo dares to investigate, the State’s obedient servant finds himself demoted and exiled. Now, with only his wife at his side, Leo must fight to uncover shocking truths about a killer-and a country where ‘crime’ doesn’t exist.”

“Child 44” also stars Joel Kinnaman of the upcoming “Robocop,” Vincent Cassel, and Paddy Considine, and is directed by Daniel Espinosa.
