Justin Bieber also makes a surprise appearance

Many thought that Carly Rae Jepsen was a one-hit wonder that would never manage to top the success of “Call Me Maybe,” her breakthrough single. Well, truth be told now, she’s yet to do that, but she seems on the right path with “I Really Like You.”

This is the latest single from the Justin Bieber protégée: it was released at the beginning of the month and has already earned very positive reviews. It’s yet to attain impressive numbers of views, so perhaps getting Tom Hanks to star in the video will help in this sense.

Indeed, the famous actor is the “lead” in the “I Really Like You” music video, with the camera focused on him for most of the time. He is on his way to meet his good friend Carly and he’s shown lip-synching the words to her most recent song, while engaging with strangers he passes on the street.

Right at the end of the video, Mr. Hanks and Carly do a group dance-off, and if you know where to look (to the right, that is), you will also spot Justin Bieber himself making a surprise appearance.

This isn’t uncommon, if you know anything about Carly: she is an act discovered and promoted by Justin, so it makes sense for him to throw all his weight behind her. With a music video, there’s no better way to do that than with a cameo.
