Tom Cruise has earned the Diamond Meritorious Award for donating a staggering £2million to the Church of Scientology. He became the biggest ever donor to the controversial organization, according to femafirst.co.uk

The English devotees have received Tom and his pregnant fiancée, Katie Holmes, with ovations, at a Scientology gala at the cult's UK headquarters in East Grinstead, Sussex.

Among the guest present at the event were 'Pulp Fiction' star John Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston.

According to an audience member, quoted by Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper: "It has been an amazing event and it is even more amazing that Tom has brought Katie. It feels really good knowing she is one of us now."

Tom Cruise has previously won the Platinum Meritorious Award for pledging £1 million.

The Hollywood actor is said to be currently taking care of his future wife, Katie Holmes.

Earlier this year, Tom was rumored to have hired Jessica Rodriguez, a Scientology official, to look after Katie during her publicity tour for 'Batman Begins'.
