Tom Cruise is a good actor. That's a fact - if you take him, a good script, a great director and a powerful studio to back him up, you can turn almost any piece of crap into a blockbuster movie. Just look at what he did with the alien vs. humans saga 'War of the Worlds'!
Tom Cruise is a joke. That too is a fact - because of his more than odd behavior and his religious beliefs, his credits as an actor are completely overlooked and he has become the joke of the entire media. Well, 'religious' beliefs is somewhat a too narrow term, since what he actually believes in can't quite be referred to by that word. Scientology is more of a cult that has been a really huge hit with stars who have lots of money and don't know what to do with it.
The 'religion' was founded in the '50s on what a science-fiction writer put down in one of his books. Primarily, it believes in aliens and UFOs and claims that we are all aliens in some sort or another. Well, Tom surely is, that's for sure! He enrolled the cult in the '80s and quickly rose to the top of the food chain, becoming a priest of his own congregation. The 'spiritual leader' of Scientology is David Miscavige, who is a close friend of Tom's and who also officiated his marriage to Katie Holmes.
A couple of months ago, Cruise's behavior and his open criticism towards other religions (as important as his own, of course, like Kabbalah) cost him his job at Paramount Pictures, the movie studio that backed him up almost throughout his entire career and that turned him into the superstar that he is now. Well, with Paramount out of the picture, Tom can now focus 100 percent on his beloved Scientology.
A source tells 'The Sun' that Miscavige and other prominent leaders of Scientology have already informed Cruise that he is the new Jesus, the one whose mission is to spread the word and convert as many people as possible. 'Tom has been told he is Scientology's Christ-like figure. Like Christ, he's been criticized for his views. But future generations will realize he was right', the spy tells the newspaper.
If all that trashing in the media got Tom feeling a bit down, this will certainly boost his ego! Then again, how absurd and ridiculous can the man be? Please! Even using Tom Cruise and Jesus in the same sentence doesn't make sense!
