Tom Cruise is often pretty quiet and discrete about his personal life but, as it happens, he tends to be more talkative if asked the right questions while on a promo tour, as British tabloid The Sun has learned. While promoting his latest film, the war drama “Valkyrie,” Tom revealed plans to beat the Brangelina couple – not at the box office, but at home, with the number of children.

Come to think of it, six, which is the number of kids Brad Pitt and Angelina have, is a figure tough to top, but Tom is sure he and Katie can do, and even reach up to ten. “I want ten children. I love kids. I feel really fortunate to have the teenagers and a two and a half-year-old. It’s a great dynamic.” the actor tells the publication, adding that the age gap between him and Katie is not an issue. At least, not as far as he’s concerned because he will always be young at heart, the only thing remaining to be seen is whether Katie will be able to keep up with him.

When asked about why the numerous family, Tom said that it was important for him to have one, given that he himself was raised without a father figure ever since he was young. At the same time, this also made him realize the importance of a father in a child’s life, which is why he plans to do all he can to make sure he plays an important part in Suri’s life, and in that of the children that are yet to come.

“I’m a great parent. I want to be with my kids, and they get to do all the stuff that I wanted to do when I was growing up. My own father wasn’t there much for me and I want to be a different dad to my kids. My family is the most important thing in my life.” Tom explains.

Together with Suri, Tom and Katie also share the custody of Cruise’s adopted children with former wife Nicole Kidman. And, while the public might think that young Katie is, well, too young to handle raising a two-year-old and two teenagers, the actor says things are far from it. “She’s a very strong, gracious woman” is how Cruise sees the woman he married after a blitz courtship in 2006.
