14 DAY TRIAL // Tom Cruise agreed to settle all matters pertaining to his divorce from Katie Holmes in almost record time, even prompting some speculation that he had literally handed daughter Suri over to Katie because he chose Scientology. Even so, he's still not giving up the fight, says a new report.
Katie was the one who filed for divorce, asking sole physical custody of her 6-year-old daughter with Tom and child support.
Tom agreed to her conditions but, in return, he got “generous” visitation rights. He plans to use his time with Suri as his biggest ally in his attempt at winning her over, says PageSix.
Tom doesn't have the heart to say “no” to Suri, no matter how absurd her demands are – a habit that Katie is currently working to rid her of. He plans to use that to his advantage.
In other words, Tom will buy his way back into Suri's heart by giving her anything her little heart might desire.
“Tom Cruise launched a full-court press to win over his daughter, spoiling her rotten so daddy’s little girl remembers the lavish lifestyle he offers, according to published reports today,” PageSix writes.
“From the moment Cruise reunited with Suri on July 17, in their first play date since Katie Holmes dropped her divorce bombshell, the 6-year-old reportedly got everything she could want and more,” adds the same publication.
This includes thousands of dollars' worth of toys, rides in a private jet and helicopter, visiting rich friends of daddy's to play in their sprawling mansions and swim in their pools, clothes and sweets and pretty much everything else that goes through the mind of a 6-year-old to ask for.
Tom has already started what he believes will be his journey to getting Suri to side with him and not her mother when he got her to spend the weekend with him, the first one after the divorce filing.
“They had so much fun together. That child has Tom wrapped around her finger,” an insider is quoted as saying.
It's already paying off, the spy believes.
“As Holmes and Suri were on a plane Monday – from Detroit to New York following a visit with the grandparents in Toledo – the little girl complained about cabin pressure. In Touch reported that screaming Suri told Holmes: 'Mommy – never take me on a plane like this again. I want to go on daddy’s plane',” PageSix writes.
