Some of you might remember the secrecy around Suri Cruise for the first months of her life and how it spanned the most ridiculous theories about who her real father was. Because of these theories, many of which are still being circulated today, Tom Cruise fears he may have to take a paternity test one day.

The National Enquirer writes in its latest print issue (story via CB) that the actor only sped up the divorce negotiations with Katie Holmes, who filed the papers a few weeks ago, because he did not want to waste more time – time he might have spent with his daughter.

However, this move got the glossies talking about a desire to hide something from the public; hence, the urgency.

All these stories still making the rounds will probably force Tom to get a paternity test to prove that he's Suri's real dad, insiders tell the tab. What's even worse, she might be the one to ask for it.

“Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s abrupt divorce has once against given rise to unbelievable new questions about their daughter Suri’s paternity, and Tom is absolutely outraged over the persistent lies and crazy rumors, say sources,” writes the Enquirer.

“The 50-year-old star will be most disturbed over suppositions that Suri will someday ask him to take a paternity test to prove he’s her father,” the tab adds.

Among those rumored to be Suri's real father these past 6+ years are Chris Klein, Katie's ex fiancé, Joshua Jackson, her “Dawson's Creek” co-star, Josh Hartnett, Tommy Davis, head of the Scientology Celebrity Center, or even L. Ron Hubbard himself.

“Tom is furious that rumors over whether or not he’s Suri’s biological dad persist, and he’s completely outraged that the chatter has intensified since his split with Katie,” an insider is quoted as saying.

“Tom loves that little girl with all his heart and his priority in life is keeping a strong father-daughter bond despite his and Katie’s bust-up. In fact, the reason he fast-tracked the divorce settlement is because he wanted to ensure that he’d never have issues seeing Suri or being a big part of her life,” adds the source.

The spy believes that, as she grows up, Suri will be teased in school because of these rumors about her real dad. To rest assured that they're not true, she might ask Tom to take the paternity test, which would really put him on the spot, the insider goes on to say.

“With his seemingly unyielding need for control, Tom will most likely resist the test until the bitter end. He might have to choose between swallowing his pride, which he’s not used to doing, or possibly sacrificing his relationship with Suri,” says the tipster.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were married for 5 years and, since Katie filed for divorce, got ten times more media attention than when they were married, particularly because of his involvement with the Church of Scientology.
