Actor is planning to spend as much time as possible with daughter Suri, says report

Tom Cruise might be moving out of Beverly Hills. After Katie Holmes filed for divorce from him after 5 years of marriage, the actor is against living in the same house they shared as a couple and, at the same time, determined to be as close as possible to Suri, his 6-year-old daughter with Katie.

Reports online claim that, right before she filed the divorce papers, Katie bought herself and Suri a condo in New York, one that would allow them both to start afresh.

Now Tom too is looking at real estate in NYC, Page Six has learned.

“Tom Cruise may have been absent when Katie Holmes first dropped her divorce bombshell, as he was filming in Iceland – but now sources say the 'Mission: Impossible' star intends to be spending a lot more time in New York to be near daughter Suri, and he’s shopping for a bachelor pad for himself,” the celebrity e-zine writes.

Because the move is part of his plan to continue spending as much time as ever with Suri, he is looking at property that has a lot of outdoor space, the report goes on to say.

Tom might be in a bit of a rush because he doesn't want to live in the home he shared with Katie until a few weeks ago, because that would feel too weird.

“Tom’s looking for a new home here. He wants a fresh start. He doesn’t want to go back to the East Village apartment where he was living with Katie,” an insider is quoted as saying.

“He’s looking for something that’s very private. Where he won’t have to deal with going through a lobby, and people outside all the time,” another spy says for the same publication.

“He also wants to have a nice amount of space for Suri, with outdoor space. That could mean high-end luxury apartments, but he’s also looking at houses outside of the city or in gated communities,” adds the second source.

Right now, Tom Cruise is in London, where he's reportedly getting ready to take a new film into production, “All You Need Is Kill.”

Because he basically can't breathe once without his name making headlines in connection to the Church of Scientology, his traveling to London has also been linked to the controversial cult.

Radar Online claims Scientology will be giving away free copies of L. Ron Hubbard's book “The Way to Happiness” during the 2012 London Olympics in search of new recruits, so perhaps Cruise's trip there right now is more than just a simple coincidence.
