Japan has had a hard time with the chain of natural phenomena disrupting its balance. That obviously didn't stop it from showcasing an amazing line of fuel-efficient futuristic green vehicles, presented at the Tokyo Auto Show.

American Ford Motor Co ditched the event and General Motors Co settled for a tiny corner where only a few people could admire what they had to offer, Huffington Post reports.

While most of the European expensive brands occupied small booths and awaited for wealthy Japanese admirers, Honda Motor Co wasn't threatened by obscurity, since its innovative models, the AC-X plug-in hybrid, EV-STER electric roadster convertible and also the “pocket size” electric car Micro Commuter captured the interest of a large segment of public almost instantly.

Nissan Motor Co introduced the last version of its outstanding Pivo 3 even a toddler could drive, while Toyota made a sensation with its plug-in version of its eco-friendly Prius hybrid. The company will start selling the car in Japan at the beginning of next year and it has already established a target: 60,000 cars to be sold on an international scale every year.

All in all, the most important fact is that fuel-efficiency, amazing design and innovative green technologies are still the main priorities of the auto industry.
