Tokio Hotel’s third studio album reaches the US this October and, understandably, the boys from the band are already preparing to take over the music scene here with their new tracks. Until that happens, though, fans here will have to make due with the video for their first single off “Humanoid,” “Automatic,” which has just been released and is making the rounds on the Internet, as AceShowbiz can confirm.

The plot of the video is simple, just like the message of the song. It shows the band members driving cars and performing on a stage in the desert, while a sub-plot deals with the love story between two robots that bear a close resemblance to those that appeared in this year’s blockbuster “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” It took three days to shoot and, according to frontman Bill Kaulitz, it was no walk in the park, since they were stranded and completely torn from civilization. It was fun, nonetheless.

“Shooting the ‘Automatic’ video three days in the desert was quite an adventure. It was in the middle of nowhere in Africa – no cell phone reception, no Internet, not even paved roads.” Kaulitz tells Teen Vogue, as cited by the aforementioned publication. It was all well worth it in the end, though. “But in return we got a location that was just unreal. I’ve never had such a good feeling after leaving a set. I knew it was right from the beginning. When I first read the video script I knew this was exactly how I wanted to visualize our song ‘Automatic.’” the singer adds.

“Automatic” the single, produced by David Josh, will be released digitally on September 22, as it is also said at the end of the video. The “Humanoid” album arrives in the US on October 6. “At the end of this track we got rid of all the normal song structures. ‘Humanoid’ has so many different parts and melodies, it’s a weird journey that might be a little confusing at the beginning, but we can’t wait to play it live.” Kaulitz has been saying just recently of the lead single and upcoming album.

Below is Tokio Hotel’s most recent effort, the official video for “Automatic.” Watch and enjoy.
