Starbucks in Hong Kong has no running water, uses faucet in parking lot restroom

A report from Hong Kong reveals how employees at a Starbucks coffee shop in Hong Kong are resorting to possibly undrinkable water in order to keep the cafe running.

Since there is no better source of water in the area, they are getting theirs from a men's restroom in a parking garage near the shop.

The picture posted above has been spread on social media, and it documents exactly where the Starbucks-branded faucet is located.

According to Kotaku, they transport the water with a cart and fill it up on as many as seventy rounds every day.

"If the staff need to frequently visit the toilet, they may increase the risk of bringing other pathogens from the washroom into their food and drink preparation area," says Ben Cowling, associate professor at the School of Public Health, University of Hong Kong.
