Today, Todoist has announced an updated flavor of its mobile client for Android-based devices, a leading todo list and personal task manager. Available as version 4.0 now, the application comes with a nice range of enhancements that should allow users to become more productive than before.

One of the most important of them is integration with Google Drive and Dropbox, which should result in better in-task document management, the company says.

“Today, Todoist becomes the all-encompassing location for task and document management with native support for files and integration with Dropbox, and Google Drive. Our goal here at Todoist is to increase each person’s productivity, and this new updated will help do just that,” the company says in a blog post.

The new feature should prove a great addition to all users who have shared projects with others, as it will provide them with the possibility to easily attach files, including images, documents and spreadsheets, straight from Todoist.

However, this new file feature will be available only to premium users, the company notes. Free users who haven’t shared files won’t benefit from the functionality.

Another enhancements packed inside the new app iteration is the option to record, attach, and play audio notes into any task, from any project.

Complemented by the possibility to easily attach photos and any other items straight from an Android device, the new feature should prove a welcome addition to many users.

This native support for uploading file to Todoist tasks on Android smartphones and tablets is complemented by the availability of in-task thumbnails and file icons based on each file type.

“With this release, we’re making files first class citizens of all the 13 platforms we support. The user experience is especially great on mobile devices, no matter what kind of file you’re uploading,” Todoist CEO and founder, Amir Salihefendic, comments on the new release.

At the same time, the company has announced a promotion that allows users to sign up for Todoist Premium for 30% less during the next 48 hours.

Users should head over to this page on the company’s website to take advantage of the promotion. Those who already have a subscription or want to upgrade to Todoist Premium should access the same page for that.
