In the midst of so many rumors that Jennifer Lopez wants to start a family with husband Marc Anthony, here comes another one: she is now in Puerto Rico, where she is looking for a baby to adopt. You know the drill, just like Madonna did and Angelina Jolie before her.
Today, a publicist for JLo rubbished the reports in the media, saying that there is basically no foundation to them. But the rumors are getting more and more by the hour, which makes it rather hard to ignore them and, come to think of it, didn't Madonna say the same until she was on the plane with the child?
So, a source tells Britain's 'Daily Mail' that Jen has reached a point in her life in which she realizes that she is not getting any younger and because the treatments she undertook to remain pregnant did not materialized in anything, she and Marc have finally decided to adopt a baby.
'Jen and Marc are dying to have kids but it just doesn't seem to be working for them. Jen realizes she's not getting any younger, so they've jointly decided that adoption may be the answer to their prayers. They've had some very serious conversations about it and have decided the best place to look is Puerto Rico as Jen and Marc's parents were both born there.', the spy is quoted as saying.
However, JLo is more than careful not to go through what Madonna went through, when she adopted baby David Banda. The 'Material Girl' caused quite a controversy for taking a boy who had a father to take care of him and many children's groups contested her right for adopting him.
Cue to the 'Daily Mail' source again: '[Jennifer] doesn't want to get burned like Madonna did so she wants to really understand the adoption laws of the country so nobody can contest it afterwards. Jen and Marc hope that by the time the adoption goes through all of the intense negative coverage of Madonna's adoption will have died. They see their actions as different because they want to adopt a baby with the same cultural heritage as theirs.'
If Jennifer and Marc do end up adopting a Puerto Rican child, you will certainly find out here, so stay tuned.
