The smartphone will be demoed at the Tizen Association booth

Samsung is still trying to come out with its first smartphones powered by Tizen operating system, but for the time being, there are no carriers interested in selling these devices.

A recent example is a Japanese carrier that refused to launch a Tizen-powered smartphone claiming that the platform was not yet ready for the mass market.

This will probably not stop Samsung from continuing to lobby its Tizen operating system, which is why the company’s recent invitation to a Tizen-related event, where the first device powered by the platform should be revealed, doesn’t come as a surprise.

Phonearena reports that Samsung has just issued invitations for a Tizen event which is set to take place in Barcelona, Spain, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.

During the event, Samsung will demo the ZTE Geek, which is supposed to run one of the latest Tizen OS versions.
