Samsung has been working on the release of a smartphone running under its Tizen operating system for quite a while now, but it appears that those who were looking to grab it will have to wait a bit longer for that to happen.

The South Korean vendor unveiled said smartphone last month, with the name of Samsung Z attached to it, and it also confirmed plans to make it available in Russia during the third quarter of the year.

However, it appears that the smartphone will not arrive in the country in due time, and that no new release date for it has been provided as of now.

According to The Wall Street Journal, developers who attended a Samsung event in Moscow this week did not appear to react negatively to the news.

Rumor has it that the vendor might have postponed the release of this device due to the lack of applications for it. However, no specific info on what determined the company to push the phone back has been provided as of now.

According to Samsung, due to the fact that there are not too many applications available on Tizen, developers would see their software at the top of the app store on a smartphone with appealing specs. However, devs find it hard to believe that they could make money when the store is half empty.
