It appears that, when developer Respawn Entertainment first approached Sony regarding the possibility of Titanfall landing on the then-future next-gen console PlayStation 4, the Japanese software and hardware giant pushed for a PlayStation Vita version of the shooter.

Titanfall is currently making first-person shooter fans all giddy on the PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but before Respawn signed the exclusivity agreement with Microsoft, they were also targeting the PlayStation 4 as a deployment platform.

When they reached out to Sony in order to discuss the target specs of the PlayStation 4, the platform holder was not ready to disclose the details of the upcoming console, but Sony suggested a PlayStation Vita version of Titanfall, and even offered to lend a helping hand in the development process.

The juicy and slightly humorous details come from Titanfall's Final Hours, which has just been released for iPad, Windows Surface and PC/Mac via Origin.

The Final Hours App also details how the development process of Titanfall was influenced by fierce legal battles with Activision, as co-founders Zampella and West were constantly distracted by legal meetings, and how up until a year ago, players would begin matches in Titans, only spawning as pilots and going on foot after dying.
