Nvidia has confirmed that it's working alongside Respawn Entertainment to bring quite a few new features to Titanfall on the PC platform, from support for 4K resolution, to special technologies like TXAA or HBAO+, in order to improve the performance of the game.

Titanfall launched for the PC and Xbox One platforms at the beginning of the month and is currently set to appear for the Xbox 360 platform in early April.

As you can imagine, the new multiplayer-only first-person shooter from Respawn Entertainment looks best on the PC platform, supporting high resolutions, great textures, and a variety of other features.

Even so, there are a few areas where improvement is needed, like the support for multi-GPU PC configurations, which is coming in a future patch.

Besides that, Nvidia and Respawn have announced a new partnership, through which the engineers of the graphics card maker are helping the studio implement new things into the PC version of Titanfall.

First up, there's support for the Temporal Anti-Aliasing technology, which should reduce the crawling and flickering seen in motion when playing the title.

"TXAA creates a smooth, clear image by combining high-quality multi-sample anti-aliasing, post processes, and Nvidia-designed filters. It’s the highest quality anti-aliasing technique out there, and delivers the stunning visuals that a groundbreaking game like Titanfall deserves," Nvidia said on its official website (the post has since been removed for unknown reasons).

Besides TXAA, the graphics card maker is also targeting Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion+ (HBAO+) for the game in order to create more lifelike shadows.

"HBAO+ uses advanced algorithms to create shadows that react accurately on and around objects in Titanfall in a lifelike, non-uniform fashion. It improves on existing ambient occlusion techniques by adding richer, more detailed, more realistic shadows around objects."

Besides these two great technologies that will certainly make the game look much prettier on powerful PC configurations, Nvidia has confirmed that Respawn will release via free updates plenty of bonus features for the game.

These include the aforementioned support for multi-GPU setups, like Nvidia's SLI or AMD's Crossfire, but also support for the ultra-high-definition 4K displays that are used by some hardcore PC gamers out there.

Nvidia promises that it will continue these partnerships under the new GameWorks label that it's revealed during GDC 2014 earlier this week. It's unclear what future games will benefit from such improvements, but you can expect some big details to appear in the future.
