The developers are saying that a Mac OS X version is being considered

Titanfall, an FPS multiplayer game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, could technically run on Linux platforms.

Most of the games that run on multiple platforms, such as Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, are using OpenGL, with very few exceptions. Titanfall is being developed for PCs and Xbox One, but one of the founders of Respawn Entertainment made a very interesting claim about a possible Mac OS X version.

A user asked on Twitter if the studio would consider making the game for Mac OS X, but the answer was surprising: “talking about it, would like to see it happen. Would have to be after launch,” said Vince Zampella.

A game that runs on Windows, Xbox One, and Mac OS X could easily be ported for Linux and it would probably run natively. There are a few other problems, like the Origin client, which is required to play the game. So far, Electronic Arts showed no intention of making it available for Linux and or to port any of its titles.

The probability of Titanfall getting a Linux release is almost zero, but it's unlikely that EA will be able to ignore the open source platform for much longer.

Titanfall is scheduled to be released on March 11 in the US and March 13 in Europe.
