The launch of the much-hyped Titanfall from developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts has managed to significantly boost the overall sales of the Xbox One home console from Microsoft on the United Kingdom market.

During the launch week, the next-gen platform managed to increase the number of devices it moved to players by 96 percent over the previous tracked period, according to Eurogamer.

70 percent of all Xbox One consoles sold in the United Kingdom last week were included in the special Titanfall bundle, which comprises a download token for the shooter and costs 399 British Pounds, which is about 664 dollars (456 Euro).

Microsoft has made it clear that the lower price for the device in the United Kingdom is not a signal that it will also make the platform cheaper on other markets or that similar bundles will be offered in the future.

Before the launch of Titanfall, Microsoft said that it would boost sales of the Xbox One and that the title is designed to show exactly the kind of experience that the device can deliver.

The shooter is also playable on the PC and an Xbox 360 version will be launched on March 25 in the United States and three days later in Europe.
