Titanfall, the first-person shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts, managed to keep the number one position in the United Kingdom video game chart for the second week in a row.

Once more, the game was boosted by the recent launch of the Xbox 360 version, which was delayed from its original March date. Despite lower quality, the release still managed to capture the attention of a wide number of players who have not bought Titanfall on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC.

Respawn Entertainment is also keeping interest in the shooter high by delivering updates that are designed to improve the overall balance of the multiplayer matches, while also adding new features, like private games.

At the same time, the publisher says that the first downloadable content pack for the title will be offered in May and will deliver three new maps for fans to explore.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is the first new entry of the United Kingdom chart and managed to reach second place, despite the fact that it was only offered on the older PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360.

The game is designed to allow fans to explore content associated with the real-life World Cup and includes a wide variety of game modes, allowing players to create their own version of football history.

LEGO The Hobbit, from Warner Bros. Interactive, continues to perform well, probably because of its association with the recently launched second movie in the trilogy, and sits on the last place on the podium, which is a decline of one position during the previous week.

FIFA 14, the older football title from EA Sports, is in fourth place, according to UKIE, and will probably have more staying power than the Brazil-themed release that reached second, while Call of Duty: Ghosts, the shooter from Infinity Ward and Activision, seems to be glued to fifth.

South Park: The Stick of Truth, from Obsidian and Ubisoft, has lost two places in order to land in sixth and another new entry, Trials Fusion, from the same company, has landed in seventh.

The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft has slid down one place to reach eight and The LEGO Movie Video game is in ninth.

The United Kingdom video game top ten is closed down by Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, from DICE and Electronic Arts, while Assassin’s Creed has dropped to 11.
