Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that, for its upcoming Titanfall first-person shooter, it's developed a special server update system that seamlessly modifies server builds without interrupting online matches.

Titanfall will be a multiplayer-only first-person shooter, and developer Respawn Entertainment has made sure that the online mode will be as smooth and as problem-free as possible, especially since players can't do anything else if the multiplayer is offline.

According to a Respawn rep from the official forums, Titanfall has a special server update system that allows for seamless transitions into new server builds.

The studio confirmed that, during the recent Xbox One alpha test, it rolled out three new server builds without interrupting gameplay.

This great mechanic is possible because of the Microsoft Azure cloud tech and the Xbox Live Compute team from the company, as Respawn worked close with them to ensure as little downtime as possible.
