The native resolution of Titanfall on Xbox One might still be 792p

Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment confirmed that its upcoming first-person shooter didn't receive a last-minute performance boost to upgrade the resolution to a native 1080p one, denying recent reports on the web.

Titanfall is set to launch next month on the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 platforms, and quite a heated debate appeared online concerning the game's actual native resolution on the Xbox One console.

Respawn itself confirmed that at least the beta stage ran at a rather unusual 792p native resolution, which was upscaled by the console to 1080p. The studio, however, left the door open for a potential increase in resolution ahead of the game's actual launch.

Recently, a report appeared online claiming that the studio managed to increase the native resolution to a whopping 1080p, thanks to the upcoming firmware update for the Xbox One.

Such a thing, however, isn't true, with Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella denying on Twitter that such a performance increase was recorded.

As such, don't expect a native resolution of 1080p for Titanfall at launch. What's more, given that Respawn primarily targets a 60fps framerate, it's more than willing to sacrifice resolution just to make sure the game runs smoothly.
