Respawn offers more details about the different new items included in Titanfall game update 8, relating to new mechanics like sudden death in Capture the Flag, Map Stars, a full-screen minimap, as well as fresh Black Market items like new Titan operating system voices and more.

Titanfall dropped at the beginning of the year and made a big splash in the competitive first-person shooter genre by offering a fast-paced experience that included not just regular infantry combat but also battles between giant mechs called titans.

Since then, the developer has rolled out a lot of major updates for the game, through which it unleashed new features, game modes, mechanics, and more, while also deploying three premium expansions that included new maps and other such things.

Yesterday, the studio finally confirmed that Game Update #8, its most ambitious patch yet, was set to debut in the near future with all sorts of additions, including a Horde-like cooperative mode where groups of players fight against waves of AI-controlled enemies.

Many other things are also included in the patch

Besides that major feature, the new update for Titanfall also brings many other additions, according to the official website.

These include a sudden death period for Capture the Flag matches where the score is tied and the timer runs out, which disables respawning and gives the victory to the first team that captures the enemy flag.

For an extra incentive to revisit certain maps in different game modes, the update also brings Map Stars, a system that awards players with an in-game star upon achieving a number of points on each map in different modes. Upon reaching certain thresholds, special insignias for your titan are unlocked.

A special full-screen minimap is also included in the patch, which can be brought up by hitting the M button on the keyboard on PC, or the right direction on the D-pad on the Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller.

Players who engage in private matches can now choose between different sets of burn cards that can be given to all participants during that special encounter. These sets are centered around different themes, from those relating to cloaking to higher speeds, titans, and more.

New items are available on the Black Market

Titanfall game update #8 also adds new items that can be purchased on the Black Market, in the form of fresh voices for the titan operating system. These include Sid, an aggressive and dominating voice, as well as Vanessa, a "warm and inviting" one. Different languages for the Betty voice can also be purchased once the update drops.

Last but not least, for players who struggle with completing certain challenges, the Black Market now offers forged certifications that automatically complete all five tears of any actual mission.

Titanfall game update #8 is set to debut later today, October 23, on PC and Xbox One.
