Tweaks to the R101 Carbine, the Big Punch kit for Titans, and other guns are coming

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed some of the big balance changes that are featured in Game Update 4, which is set to debut for Titanfall in the near future, including tweaks to satchel charges, shotguns, the Hemlok, or the Big Punch kit for Titans.

Titanfall is set to receive a major patch in the near future across the PC and Xbox One platforms, in the form of game update 4, and Respawn Entertainment has been slowly unveiling more and more details about the things included in it.

After hearing about the new modes and customization options, the studio has confirmed on its website the array of balance tweaks that will be made to different weapons and items from the game.

First up, a wide array of different guns has been fine tuned in the upcoming update, starting with the Shotgun, which has seen its damage reduced at mid-range. Its cursor has also been fixed, as it will no longer show an impact even if the enemy was outside the actual range of the gun.

The fan-favorite R101 carbine will also see some adjustments, as apparently Respawn believes it's a bit too powerful when compared to other weapons in the game.

"This weapon was designed to be an all-purpose weapon, and it does that quite well, too well, even. We've slightly adjusted it to make it a bit more uncomfortable to handle and hit targets at long distances. It will kick a bit more when fired but the effects are subtle enough to only be felt at long range. We've also reduced its mag size from 30 to 24. The extended ammo upgrade brings it from 24 to 30 (it used to go from 30 to 40)."

The R97 compact sub-machine gun has seen its rate of fire upgraded, as well as the aiming down the sights time improved. More importantly, it does more damage when pilots are rodeo-ing enemy titans.

Satchels: Satchel damage has been reduced against Pilots only. They will still kill a Pilot caught close to the center of the explosion, but the fall-off is more severe now, allowing Pilots that are far from the satchel to survive more often than they currently do.

The Hemlok has seen upgrades to its damage and improvements to its stability. It will now take around 4 bullets to kill an enemy Pilot, instead of 5. If Pilots are using the amped version via a Burn Card, the weapon will be able to kill in just three bullets.

The G2A4 Rifle has also been improved, as it will kill enemy pilots in three bullets, or two if it's amped.

For Titans, the Plasma Railgun has seen some tweaks made to the field of view, the aiming down the scope time, and other few things in order to ensure that you can still track targets while charging it up.

Last but not least, the Big Punch kit for Titans has been significantly nerfed when used by Ogre variations. Atlas and Stryder Titans won't see that many changes when using Big Punch.
