Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the first proper add-on for Titanfall is going to be the Expedition DLC, which includes three maps and launches this May for the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

Titanfall dropped at the beginning of March onto the Xbox One and PC platforms, and earlier this week on the Xbox 360 console. It amazed millions of players from around the world with its intense experience, delivering a multiplayer-only first-person shooter.

The game had quite a lot of content, including 15 maps, five different modes, and plenty of various features that made going through it a lot of fun.

However, Respawn has already promised that at least three different add-ons will be released for the game, and it has now confirmed on its website that the first map pack is called Expedition.

The DLC brings three new maps to the current pool, in the form of Runoff, Swamplands, and Wargames.

A special description has been provided by the studio, using elements to tie the new locations into the game's story.

"In the wake of the Battle of Demeter, IMC Expeditionary Forces travel deep into Frontier space to recover from their recent defeat. On an uncharted world, the IMC begin construction of a new fleet operations base, using newly acquired water collection and filtration plants to support the new base," the studio said.

"When drainage operations reveal ancient ruins and artifacts of an unknown origin in a nearby swamp, Spyglass activates an archaeological team to investigate the site. To maintain battle readiness at the new base, IMC Pilots use simulation pods to train for anticipated Militia raids, based on lessons learned in Angel City and IMC Airbase Sierra."

Titanfall Expedition is the first of the three planned add-ons for Titanfall. Like all the upcoming ones, it will cost 10 USD/EUR, and it will be released in May.

The other DLC packs are going to appear in the months after that.

You can score a discount if you buy the Season Pass, which costs 25 USD/EUR and comes with a 5 USD/EUR saving over buying the add-ons separately.

Respawn also confirmed some time ago that new multiplayer modes would be made available to all players for free, in order to keep things as fresh and exciting for all those who invested in the game.

Until then, expect to hear some more details and maybe even see some footage of the new Expedition maps before their release in May.
