The development process for the very successful Titanfall was influenced heavily during its initial stages by the legal battles between Respawn Entertainment, led by founders Vince Zampella and Jason West, former employer Activision and current partner Electronic Arts.

According to the new The Final Hours of Titanfall book from Geoff Keighley, which is excerpted on Kotaku, the legal process was both complicated and drawn out and stressed all the developers involved with the shooter.

The most affected person was Jason West, who was blamed for ignoring Titanfall for long periods of time.

The founder left the company in 2013, but the official reason offered to the public was family issues.

The Geoff Keighley book and app offers more details on the development process for Titanfall and the way Respawn Entertainment managed to deal with the pressure of creating its first game after splitting with the Call of Duty franchise.

The game is at the moment playable on the Xbox One, the 360 and the PC and the first downloadable content pack was just announced as coming in May with new maps for gamers to experience.

Developers also promise that they will continue to deliver free updates to improve the balance of the shooter.
