Respawn Entertainment, the developer of the upcoming Titanfall, has just released a brand new video in which members of its staff detail just how the Titans in the new title were imagined, created, animated, and introduced into the actual experience.

Titanfall makes its debut next month worldwide for the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 platforms. It delivers a multiplayer-only first-person shooter experience in which players can control agile Pilots but also maneuver big Titans, which are represented by hulking mechs.

Respawn confirmed some time ago that, at least at launch, there will be three different Titan types, in the form of the Atlas, Stryder, and Ogre.

After allowing players to get to know the Atlas titan in the recent beta test phase that was organized on the PC and Xbox One, Respawn Entertainment has shared an impressive video in which it details just how the three mechs were created.

As you can see above, one of the lead artists from Respawn, Joel Emslie, takes fans through the whole creation process and explains just how the titans were imagined in the first place as all-in-one weaponry platforms.

The three different Titans each have different roles in the battlefield, according to Emslie. As seen in the beta, the Atlas is a good all-around mech, with good mobility, firepower, and damage resistance. The other two types, however, sacrifice some aspects to gain boosts in different areas.

The Stryder is much more agile and faster on the battlefield but can only withstand a small amount of damage. Meanwhile, the Ogre is designed as a big and heavy weapons platform that can dish out and withstand a big amount of damage, even if it's quite slow.

"To demonstrate these personalities while also keeping movement fluent, it takes a great deal of time and patience in motion capture studios. Each Titan shows its own distinct types of movement, melee attacks and a trademark Titanfall. Getting to this stage was not done through concept art, but 3D models which were built and altered time and again until each design was perfect," the studio said about its Titan creation process.

What's more, the video also emphasizes that pilots were also balanced against the mechs, as they are extremely agile, can engage their invisibility cloaks, and use their special anti-Titan weapons in order to get the upper hand. Don't forget that one of the most impressive moments in Titanfall also involves another pilot jumping on top of a titan and sabotaging it "rodeo" style.

Titanfall drops next month on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
