How to keep the old interface of the clips

Last week, the online video sharing service YouTube rolled out a new interface for the embedded clips that adds more functionality to the videos. For example, you're now able to view the related clips straight into the embedded video without having to visit the official YouTube page. In addition, the movie is now offering a menu button that offers instant access to several functions in comparison with the old appearance that bundled all the features in the same interface. Although I really like the new design, some users expressed their disappointment with it, saying that they just want the old interface back. YouTube's employee created a simple way to do that by adding the "&rel=0" code after the URL link.

Moreover, the online video sharing service team is preparing more updates in the next weeks and, as far I can see, we should expect a new interface for all the clips provided by YouTube. "You'll see more changes coming up which will allow deeper customization of the embedded player -- whether you want the "classic" single video playback or some great new ways to display a variety of videos on your website, profile page or blog. Bottom line: we want this new feature on embeds to work for you," the YouTube team said today.

Meanwhile, a lot of users are complaining that the new interface is quite buggy and some of the most useful features included in the embedded clips are now unavailable. For example, the recently introduced ability to view the clips in full-screen mode is not anymore available through embedded videos. Still, you can take the original URL of the clip straight from the new interface as well as the embedded code, both of them being available under the Menu button. So, we should wait a while until the YouTube team improves the video player again and see what's new and useful for the embedded clips.
