This way, you don't need to pay for some online service or other

Cloud storage services have been growing in popularity, the sort that let you upload things to a public server and access the data from anywhere and at any time.

Just in case you want to be self-sufficient, however, there are home cloud servers too. Devices that you buy and set up in your own home, and on which you store whatever you would upload online if you were to choose the alternative mentioned above.

The EzeeCube is a new example of such a cloud, a small, modular PC that measures 14 x 14 x 4.5 cm (5.5 x 5.5 x 1.8 inches).

It has an ARM Cortex A9 dual-core CPU, 1 GB of DDR3 memory, an HDD of 1 TB capacity (5400 RPM) and the Linux Yocto operating system.

4 GB of Flash eMMC memory are included, as well as 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Ethernet, USB, and HDMI, like on any self-respecting PC, even miniature ones.

Not that regular PC features are all that the EzeeCube has to offer. No, the thing also has the ability to automatically organize content by album, date and location, in addition to removing duplicates, recognizing faces and making automatic backups for iOS and Android devices (via the downloadable mobile app).
