The first Release Candidate of Tiny Core 4.4 is available for download

Robert Shingledecker announced yesterday, February 25the, the immediate availability for download of the Tiny Core Linux 4.4 Release Candidate 1 operating system.

Tiny Core 4.4 RC1 Linux distro gets an updated Linux kernel (version 3.0.21) in order to support the following: ax25 and HAM radio, kexec, efficeon agp patch, r6040 mii fix, isa libata enabled for very old laptops, xts, gf128mul for TrueCrypt uses, the mount CIFS shares kernel panic issue resolved.

Moreover, the new development release updates tc-config with syslog/rsyslog patch and Xprogs.tcz with smc-fetch.sh and scmbrowser tweaks.

Here's how to update from the Release Candidate area: copy over new vmlinuz, copy over new core.gz, copy over new Xprogs.tcz and then boot into new system.

Download Tiny Core Linux 4.4 RC1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
