Tiny Core 3.7 has been released. The latest update to the minuscule Linux distro continues to tweak and improve the base system and comes with several changes and new capabilities. One of the big new features is a new all-in-one ISO which contains both Tiny Core and Micro Core, the sister distro.

There is now better support for NTFS partitions as well. There has been a lot of work on Tiny Core's custom configuration and expansion tools, as well as a few to the boot process.

There is now a new "multicore" ISO which comes with Tiny Core, Micro Core and Network Tools all rolled into one. This should enable users to download just one ISO and then install whichever flavor they prefer.

Another addition is support for NTFS partitions, Tiny Core should now be able to access files on this type of partitions, though access is still read-only. However, you can install the NTFS3G extension and get full read-write access, rebuildfstab has been updated in order to support this.

About Tiny Core Linux

Tiny Core is one of the smallest Linux distros out there, weighing in at just 10 MB, but still providing a full graphical environment. It is designed to be a highly mobile distro coming with just the bare-bones minimum, Linux 2.6 kernel, Busybox, Tiny X, and Fltk.

It does not come with an extensive suite of applications or functionality, and not all hardware is supported by default. However, extra packages and features can be easily installed, on-the-fly via the built-in tools.
