Tina Turner and her longtime beau, record executive Erwin Bach, have finally tied the knot. The civil ceremony took place earlier this week, according to reports, with the private celebration to follow this weekend.

Tina and Erwin met in 1985 at a party in London and have been together ever since. She applied for Swiss citizenship earlier this year, and officially got it in April, when she renounced her US passport.

E! News has confirmation from municipal official Hannes Friess that the civil ceremony took place at “at Lake Zurick in Küsnacht, Northern Switzerland a few days ago.”

“There will be a private celebration in Küsnacht on Sunday, [July 21]. We do not have any information about names or number of guests,” Friess adds, refusing to offer more details on the nuptials to the press.

Unconfirmed reports say the party will take place at the couple’s home, with some of the biggest names in showbiz included on the guest list.

“The pair will reportedly celebrate the union at their Küsnacht manor on Sunday with an intimate Buddhist ceremony attended by 120 guests (Turner is a longtime practicing Buddhist). The eight-time Grammy winner will be wearing a gown designed by Giorgio Armani,” E! writes.

“Additionally, music industry stars like David Bowie, Italian music star Eros Ramazzotti and Sade are expected to attend the nuptials and party, as is Oprah Winfrey, according to Swiss outlet Schweiz am Sonntag, which also reports that wedding guests have been asked to wear white,” the same report notes.

Before Bach, Tina was married to Ike Turner for 14 years. In 1976, when she filed for divorce, it emerged that he was of a very violent disposition and would often mistreat and abuse her, both physically and emotionally.

Always a lady, the iconic singer has kept her relationship with Bach out of the spotlight as much as possible.
