Tina Fey wrote the script for the iconic teen comedy “Mean Girls” and she’s now working to get it on stage, as a musical – as soon as possible.

For fans hoping a sequel of some sorts would be made, even though plans repeatedly fell through, this must be exceptional news.

Fey herself confirmed it for E! News at this weekend’s SAG Awards 2013, a WENN report informs.

“We want to, I'd love to. I'm trying to develop it with my husband [Jeff Richmond], who does all the music for 30 Rock, and I think Paramount's on board,” the comedienne said.

For the time being, Fey and Richmond have a script but no deal signed just yet. However, the star assured E! that she was hoping for Paramount to sign on the dotted line sometime soon.
