If you were asked by an alien being "Who's Bob Dylan?" what description would you use to make him understand? Well… he's a famous singer, songwriter, poet, author, peace activist, new-trend maker, a legend all in all.
But even with all these attributes, and you would still not grasp Dylan's entire career. Because he just showed us another side of his polyvalent activity, and that is playing disc jockey for XM Radio, the radio channel that is gaining more and more popularity in the U.S.
His show is ready to go on air on May 3rd. Bob Dylan will be the story teller, a story with music, words and his well known humor and charisma. As critics say, he seems like the fish in the ocean when he is in the studio and puts on the on-air ear plugs. Greil Marcus, a Bob-Dylan-expert (yes, there is such thing!) said that Dylan sounds as if he had been doing this for years. "In his head he probably has".
Each Dylan show will play music around a certain theme. For the first one, weather will be the main topic. And when you talk about weather, it's impossible not to remember Katrina and its damages, and of course the city of New Orleans, actually one of Dylan's favorites.

So Bob will be "Blowing in the Wind", while Muddy Waters will ask "Blow Wind Blow" and Frank Sinatra sings about the "Summer Wind".
Not even the officials of XM Radio know yet how long the show will run or what audience it will bring the channel. As for how much Dylan was paid, no word either.
So it seems like the only answer left is, my friend, blowing in the wind…
